Olesia Anisimovich on Finding “Me Time” in Motherhood

Olesia Anisimovich is a health coach and NYC mom who understands the importance of me time. She shares with us her daily wellness rituals, the sage advice her mom gave her about beauty and self-care, and a Mother’s Day wish list full of gifts that are sure to delight!

What’s the greatest lesson your own mother taught you about wellness or beauty?

You don’t need to be rich to be able to take care of yourself.

Do you have any nightly rituals or habits that were inspired by your mom?

One very important habit – “I’ll think about issues tomorrow, when my head is fresh,” My mom always said that.

How did becoming a mother affect your wellness and beauty habits?

It really made me prioritize the little “me-time” I have nowadays. I had to dig deep to really figure out what wellness habits work for me and make me feel like the best version of myself.

What do you want for Mother’s Day? What will you be giving?

I love experiences and timeless jewelry, and I’m thinking of giving my mom a handbag I know she’ll love.

Rapid Fire Round:

Do you have a bedtime ritual?

Skincare routine, legs up the wall and a quick mediation or deep breathing.

What do you wear to bed?

I’m a night gown kinda girl.

What is on your bedside table?

Lip balm, hand cream, huge water bottle and paper with pen that lights up for writing ideas that may pop into my head at night/early morning.

Are you a night owl or an early bird?

Early bird! I feel very energetic in the morning (if I go to bed early).

Which scent makes you think of bedtime?

Lemon balm.

Are you reading or watching anything good at the moment?

Reading “Think Like A Monk” and anticipating the second season of the “Flight Attendant”.

What are some nighttime items you cannot live without?

My weighted eye mask, lip balm and hand cream.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Dark chocolate…for breakfast 🙂

Are there any health & wellness trends you’re interested in trying?

I’ve been curious to try micro-needling for my face.

How do you engage in self-care?

Skincare routines that make me happy, movement (even if it’s 5 minutes), meditation, self-massages and nourishing myself with healthy and delicious food.

What is your favorite way to de-stress?

Exercise and gardening!

What do you consider the single most important thing for a good night’s sleep?

A peaceful mind– leaving your daytime worries outside of the bedroom. I know it’s easier said than done.

What was your favourite childhood bedtime story?

My parents always made up some sweet stories.

What is your skincare routine like? Do you have any holy grail products?

Keeping it simple but consistent is the key. I love hyaluronic acid serums and peptides.

How would you choose to spend one hour of free time?

I’d do a workout followed by meditation and take a refreshing shower afterwards. Alternatively, I’d read a book.

If you could choose a song to wake up to every morning, what would it be?

My favorite morning song is actually the sound of birds singing!
